Former Governor Murtala Nyako

Former Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa  state has said that he has been vindicated in view of what had so far happened since his removal from office up to the defeat of Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Nyako disclosed this at his residence in Yola while addressing his supporters who came to bid him welcome back to the state after his self-exile abroad for months.
Nyako had left the state on self-exile abroad to escape from his political enemies following his impeachment in June last year by the Adamawa State House of Assembly over allegations of corruption and misappropriation of the state fund.

The impeachment was allegedly supported by the PDP-led federal government under former President Goodluck Jonathan, especially after the letter of Nyako to the former president accusing him of genocide against the Northern region of the country.
Nyako said he advised the former president on very vital issues that would have helped Jonathan's former administration but he was offended.
"We advised them (Jonathn administration) but they took offence and have seen the result,” he said.
He called on Adamawa people to support the present administration of Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari who has been his boss in the military, adding that he knows that Buhari is reliable and will deliver the dividend of democracy to Nigerians.
"I want to thank the people of Adamawa for their contribution in voting PDP out. We now need to support our big brother Buhari who is reliable to deliver", Nyako said.
He said he did not embezzle the state funds, saying that he has no money hidden anywhere around the world, and challenged anybody who knows where he is hiding money to come and reveal it to the world.
There had been wild celebration by supporters and well wishers in Yola as Nyako arrived the Yola International Airport on Saturday.
Nyako, who arrived around 11a.m., drove straight in a convoy to the Specialist Hospital and Federal Medical Centre Yola to console victims of Thursday’s bomb blast.
