PDP Urges Muslims to Rededicate Themselves to Peace, Love, Tolerance- Ramadan
Prince Uche Secondus
The Acting National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, on behalf of the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on Nigerian Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan to reposition their hearts and rededicate themselves to the virtues of love, peace and tolerance as epitomized in the life and teachings of Holy Prophet Mohammed.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said in statement
Thursday: “The holy month offers Nigerians a wonderful opportunity to
draw from God, regenerate their souls while making room in their hearts
for forgiveness, unity and peaceful co-existence upon which the nation
is built”.
The party observed that though Nigeria is blessed with abundant human
and natural resources, it can only realise its full potential if the
citizens jettison all forms of bitterness, division and violence and
work together in love as one people.
Secondus stressed that the holy month presents Nigerians the occasion
to pursue the will of the Almighty Allah to live together in peace.
The party therefore urged Nigerians to allow their souls to feed from
the blessings of Ramadan and continue to pray and work towards the unity
and prosperity of the country for the good of all.
Furthermore, the PDP charged political office holders at all levels
across the country to use the period to reflect on the enormous
responsibility vested in them and ensure that they rededicated
themselves to the service of the people for which God will hold them
accountable.
