NIGER State Governor, Abubakar Sami Bello has been sworn-in as the fifth civilian governor of the state with the promise to carry out a forensic audit of the state to determine the huge debt profile and bonds left behind by the outgoing administration with a view to determining how these funds were applied and for which projects.
His predecessor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu was publicly booed and stoned by angry crowd at the venue. Aliyu was earlier billed to address the people of the state for the last time as governor before the administration of oath of allegiance on his successor, but this could not take place because of the hostility of the crowd towards him.
Bello expressed the intention of his administration to downsize government by rationalizing the existing ministries, department and parastatals to conserve funds for capital projects.
In his inaugural speech at the Minna Township Stadium, Bello said his government is inheriting a bloated, disillusioned, unproductive and least paid civil service in the country, stressing that the state requires a modern, effective and efficient civil service to drive its development agenda.

He said the electorate shunned all monetary inducement aimed at buying their votes and conscience during the election.
"Despite heavy inducement to move otherwise, the people were not induced or intimidated. The people voted for their better destiny at last election. The average Nigerian, decent, hardworking, unseen and anonymous, they voted.

Goodluck And Buhari

YESTERDAY, the mantle of leadership changed in the Presidency and most states across the country. It was a democracy day indeed, but unusual one from the past.

This is because since 1999, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has held political power at the centre and most states.
In all the successive general elections, namely 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2011, PDP had always won elections, especially the Presidency.
But in the recent general elections, PDP, for the first time in the last 16 years, lost the presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The victory of the APC’s President Muhammadu Buhari in the election was unprecedented, as it changed the political equation in the polity right from the Presidency, National Assembly to states.
The development also ushered in a new dawn in the country’s political history, as President’s swearing-in yesterday has changed the status quo.
While so many people, especially PDP members, will be affected, some members of the APC will be elevated.

How To Get Better Grades In School

How To Get Better Grades In SchoolImage result for someone reading a book

Most of us have heard of the cliché, “The Pen is Mightier than the Sword”. This literally means as quoted by Kumar “The man who holds the pen is a knowledgeable and learned man, and those who hold the sword become ineffective and unsuccessful. All respected well-known philosophers, writers, doctors, poets, engineers, and wise educated men were guided by the pen. Their names still live today even those who are no longer with us, because of their findings and doings. Had these people not chosen the pen, their respect in society would have gone down with them in their graves, as if they had never lived.”

How can the pen help you get better grades? I’m glad you asked. See the below article.

The Power Of Writing Things Down

One of my favorite tricks for improving many areas of my life is really simple: I write things down. This is a hugely powerful way to focus your attention, keep track of life, create a permanent record for the future, and much more.
If you think writing is a waste of time, read on for some great reasons to get in the habit of putting pen to paper on a regular basis.

The Act of Writing Helps Your Memory
Have you ever noticed that when you write a shopping list, you can remember almost all the items on it without glancing at it? Or when you have a bright idea and scribble it in your notebook, you can remember it all day? The very act of writing things down helps to get them lodged into your long-term, not short-term, memory.

Boost your memory by:
* Writing out your to-do list at the start of each day
* Recording ideas and thoughts as they occur to you
* Memorizing facts for tests by writing them out several times

A Musician does not write a song one time, but he repeats the lyrics of a song until he can sing or play it without hesitation. A Dancer practice (repeats) her dance moves over and over again until it is a natural motion when she performs. The same holds true in order to get better grades, you must develop a good habit of writing information from your lecture class and while you study. You will be amazed how much information you obtain during your next test. You can’t do it just one time. You must continue this habit every day and before you know it I guarantee your grades will improve.

We look forward to better grades!
