Ngilari: I Have No Case with EFCC
Bala James Ngilari
The immediate past Governor of Adamawa state ,Barrister Bala James
Ngilari, has refuted the allegations that he was declared wanted by
the Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC.
Ngilari, who refuted the allegations on Sunday night on his return to
Yola from Dubai where he underwent medical check- up, said the
allegation was a cheap blackmail perpetrated by persons who are out to
destroy his reputation.
The former governor said he does not have any issues with the EFCC and cannot be moved by such unwarranted allegations.
"As far I am concerned, I did not receive any invitation from EFCC
as alleged, in fact I don't have any case before the commission,"
Ngillari declared.
He explained that he was absent at the inauguration of the new
governor , Senator Muhammad Jibrilla Bindow, because he travelled abroad
for medical check-up contrary to what is being speculated by his
political enemies.
"Mr. Boni Haruna ,the then governor of Adamawa state, was absent during
our inauguration in 2007 and it was his deputy, Bello Tukur that handed
over to Governor Murtala Nyako while I was his deputy.
"So , contrary to what is being speculated, I did not run away , I
went for medical check-up and I delegated my deputy to do the handing
over on my behalf while I was away," he said.
