Ajapaworld plans financial seminar for children

Ajapaworld plans financial seminar for children

To mark this year’s Children’s Day, a group, Ajapaworld, is set to host children and youths to a financial inclusion symposium in Lagos on May 27.
According to the Chief Executive Officer, Ajapaworld, Mr. Akin Braithwaite, the symposium, entitled, “Financial Inclusion For Children and Youth in Nigeria,” is the first of its kind targeted at children.
He said, “Ajapa aims ultimately to create sustainable synergy between financial and child care torch bearers in order to raise children in the society that appreciate the dignity of labour, wise earning and saving.
“It aims at marking this year’s Children’s Day celebrations by raising levels of awareness and rallying mass action towards the global cause of making children financially literate, by including them in the global financial plans and services. ’’
According to Braithwaite, the summit, which will hold at the Harbour Point, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, is coming on the heels of the Global Money Week programme featuring select public and private primary and secondary schools.
“Ajapa spearheads numerous initiatives towards child financial literacy and inclusion. In partnership with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund and the State Universal Basic Education Board, Ajapa is currently rolling out Ajapa Children’s Financial Clubs in all Lagos State primary schools. The clubs have long become the toast of teeming children in schools constituting the pilot phase of the scheme,’’ he said.
