Fayose's Impeachment: Drivers , Okada Riders Lay Siege to Assembly

Tension mounted in Ado Ekiti metropolis on Monday, as police surrounded
the entire House of Assembly complex following a rumour that the 19 All
Progressives Congress lawmakers wouid besiege the place to commence the
impeachment process against Governor Ayodele Fayose.
Heavily armed policemen had cordoned off all the roads leading to the
Assembly and prevented those not on official duties at the State
Secretariat that is located close to the Assembly from gaining entry.
Aside from several patrol vans that were stationed at every junction
linking the House, an armoured personnel carrier was placed in
front of the Assembly while combat ready anti-riot policemen were on guard to forestall breakdown of law and order.

To prevent being caught napping, members of the Peoples Democratic
Party mobilized themselves and commercial drivers and motorcyclists to
Secretariat and NTA roads , while barricades were mounted to prevent
human and vehicular accesses to the Assembly.
As at 4.30 pm, the PDP members were still keeping vigil at the
Assembly , while the policemen were yet to leave the vicinity to
prevent crisis.
