Kwankwaso: I Was Not Under House Arrest By EFCC
Former Kano state governor, Alhaji Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso
A former Kano state governor, Alhaji Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso has denied
that he was placed under a house arrest by the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, Kwankwaso, who now represents Kano Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said contrary to reports that he had instituted an action against the EFCC in order to prevent arrest, it was some of his supporters in Kano who, on their own, sued a group for a libel.
The statement signed by his Principal Private Secretary, Muhammad
Inuwa Ali, said the former governor was willing and ready to support the
anti-graft agency in the fight against corruption.
"To set the records straight, Senator Kwankwaso was not invited by the
EFCC nor was he ever placed on house arrest or prevented from
discharging his legislative or personal duties by any agency.
