Rivers State: Police arrest three robbery suspects

The Rivers Police Command has arrested three armed robbery suspects caught while trying to rob a new generation bank at Eagle Cement area of Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt.
A statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer in Rivers, Nnamdi Omoni, said the arrest followed a distress call to the police at midnight on Thursday.
It said the arrested suspects were in their late 20s.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that items recovered from the suspects included one cooking gas cylinder, one handsaw, one chisel and two bags.
“One of the police men sustained gunshot wound during exchange of gunfire and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital,” the statement added.
