FG Committed To Making ACAN Best In Africa – PMB

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the Federal Government was committed to making the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN), a training arm of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the best anti-corruption training school in Africa.

Buhari who spoke at the opening ceremony of the training workshop on Corruption Risk Assessment (CRA) for heads of anti-corruption agencies in Africa, noted that the support for ACAN had become necessary in order to help Nigeria and other African countries deal with the massive problems of corruption on the continent.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was under attack yesterday for describing President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as “incompetent”.

Obasanjo is backing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar, who the government said “will be roundly and comprehensively” defeated.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, was absent at the signing of a peace pact for 2019 presidential candidates in Abuja.

It was not immediately clear why Mr Abubakar, the major challenger to President Muhammadu Buhari, did not turn up at the event.

Mr Abubakar was among those expected at the event.

Senate Tuesday had a hectic time at plenary over the confirmation of nominees for appointment as chairman and members of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, ICPC, as well as members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.


This is because most lawmakers from the South East geopolitical zones accused the presidency of exclusion and marginalization of the zones in most federal appointments.

The Nigeria Police Force says it is not a crime to have sex in one’s car.

The police, however, said it could be considered a crime if one has sex with underage person; or if the car is parked in a religious institution when the act takes place.



The Police also say car sex is unlawful if both persons are of the same sex.

The Police, therefore, asked that anybody who is harassed for having sex in a car should report the incident immediately.

     A bid to impeach Somalia’s president for alleged abuse of office was ruled “invalid” Tuesday after the parliamentary clerk said over a dozen MPs had denied signing the motion.
“We have received written statements from 14 lawmakers who claim their names have been used wrongly in the list of signatories of the motion against the president,” parliamentary clerk Abdikarim Haji Abdi Buh said in a statement.

Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti has taken a swipe at Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, over his comment on the possibility of an impostor taking the place of President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a video that went viral on social media earlier this week, Oyedepo had commented on an article written by Dare Olatunji in The Nation Newspaper, where the writer ridiculed the notion of a body double for Buhari.
